Can The Existing Frame Stay?

This comes up on a lot of projects.

Sometimes the existing frame is still in good condition. In that situation, a slab door may be an option.

Other homes tell a different story.

We occasionally remove the interior trim and find movement, moisture damage, or an opening that was never installed quite right in the first place. That’s when a pre-hung door becomes the better long-term choice because the entire system is replaced together instead of trying to build around an older frame.
